Personal Information Collection and Use

WinShareSoft is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement explains our privacy practices for our site www.TweakingToolbox.com (the "Site") on the World Wide Web. The following statement explains our information-gathering and dissemination practices. Please read the complete privacy statement.

WinShareSoft lets you visit the Site without revealing any personal information about yourself. We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies (personal information) you. WinShareSoft requests personal information from our users at several different points on our Web site. If you choose to provide personal information, and give us permission, only then we will use this information to send you communication, including informative emails/newsletters about product upgrades, product updates, new products, services; to provide you special offers that may be of interest to you and may include paid advertisements from third parties.

WinShareSoft is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Information We Gather/Track

WinShareSoft collects personal information that can be divided into the following categories:

• Software Product Registration Information: When registering a WinShareSoft product, you will be asked you for personal information as part of the registration process. If you select the "Send me information about product updates AND offers" option in the in the "Personal Information" section when ordering a WinShareSoft product, we use this information to send you communication, including informative emails/newsletters about product upgrades, product updates, new products, services; to provide you special offers that may be of interest to you and may include paid advertisements from third parties. WinShareSoft keeps your personal information confidential and does not sell, trade or exchange mailing lists with any organization. WinShareSoft maintains this information and will only disclose your personal information to third parties if acting under good faith belief that such action is necessary to (1) conform to legal requirements; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of WinShareSoft.
• Technical Support: If you request technical support online, we will ask you for information necessary to complete the transaction such as your name, email address and information about your computer, and the nature of the problem you are experiencing. You make the decision whether to proceed with any activity that requests personal information. If you do not wish to provide the requested information, however, you may not be able to complete the transaction.
• Order and Credit Card Information: WinShareSoft uses "esellerate", a third-party provider of e-commerce solutions, to provide WinShareSoft with its Web store, and in doing so collects information about users, including credit card information. When a user purchases a product from the WinShareSoft store, information about the customer, including name, address, and email address, is provided to WinShareSoft.
  
  Esellerate requests information from the user on the order form, hosted on the esellerate Web server. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. Your credit card information does not pass through the WinShareSoft Site under the terms of our agreement with esellerate. Esellerate does not share credit card information with WinShareSoft. Esellerate keeps your credit card information confidential and protects your credit card information through the use of industry-standard Secure Sockets (SSL) encryption technology. Cookies

"Cookies" are small pieces of information that your browser stores on your computer on behalf of a Web site that you have visited. The WinShareSoft Site does not use cookies. Our e-commerce provider, esellerate, uses session cookies and other cookies to facilitate access to customer account information in the shopping cart on their site. However, WinShareSoft has no access to or control over these cookies.

Esellerate's cookies are used only to identify the customer, not to identify any specific customer traits. This allows esellerate to maintain consistency in the shopping cart and enable a more pleasant shopping experience

Log Files

We do keep track of the domains from which you visit us on the World Wide Web, and log IP addresses for statistical purposes. We do this to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use to identify and analyze trends and the results of our marketing efforts, to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer the Site, and track users' movements. We will periodically share aggregate demographic information with our business partners. IP addresses are not linked to personal information.

Email

With your permission, WinShareSoft will send you communication, including informative emails/newsletters about product upgrades, product updates, new products, and services. This communication is to provide you special offers that may be of interest to you, and may include paid advertisements from third parties.

Surveys

From time-to-time WinShareSoft requests information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested in the surveys is for aggregate use and does not identify the user. No cookies are used. Survey information is not sold, shared, or rented to any third party, and is used internally solely by WinShareSoft for purposes of improving the use and satisfaction of this site/products.

Security of your personal information

All information gathered on the WinShareSoft site is stored and maintained in secure facilities. In addition, internal security provides that this information is coded with restricted access, and our servers are kept in a secure, locked environment that limits access to authorized personnel only. Correction/Updating Personal Information

At your request, WinShareSoft will change or delete your information and not use it for further contact with you. To request that your information be changed or deleted and not used for further contact with you, please use one of the following options:

Choice/Opt-out

Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information.

Esellerate requests information from the user on the order form, hosted on their Web server.

For example, the order form hosted on the esellerate Web server, has an 'opt-out' mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep their email address off of our lists.

Users who no longer wish to continue receiving our communication, including informative emails/newsletters about product upgrades, product updates, new products, services, special offers that may be of interest to you, and paid advertisements from third parties, may opt-out of receiving these communications in the following ways:

Notification of Changes

If we are going to use your personal information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify you via email. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post the notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
